Biology and Love I
Núria Duran presents a series of works which invite us to reflect on the process of life. Four installations which form a dialogue between them are the product of her latest investigative phase. From her studio, metaphorically converted into a laboratory, she explores symbolic depictions of inner worlds. Just as science discovers and wonders whether cells can communicate through biophotonic emissions,1 from the territory of art Duran similarly reflects on how living organisms exist, connect and communicate with each other in this complex universe of ours.
Cellular bodies, morphologies and fields of light are the starting point for a work which invites us to go beyond the aesthetic field to talk of collective memories, of the possible links and interconnections which are generated from the nucleus of life. In the representation of subtle forms, colour is the common thread for the nuances of diversity, opening paths through light, liberating the layers which crystalize the experiences of the everyday. In this vertex arises the question of love: what part does love play in this exploration? Núria Duran proposes, interpellates and invites us to enter a process of creating dialogues, to action without resistance, to new ways of weaving life and to the construction of spaces for re-appropriating the common ground.
