Núria Duran, Catalan artist (1971), BA in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona.
Núria has mainly held exhibitions in art galleries and centres in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland and the United States. As well as her artistic work, for the past 10 years she has independently developed and run experimental workshops for the creative process through engravings. Her initial focus was textile design and paint, to which she subsequently integrated collage and engraving, exploring diverse formal experiences in her work. For many years Núria has worked with the landscape as a source for her research, seeking to show the structures behind nature. In recent years, she has explored the interior rather than the exterior of the human body, symbolising this micro-universe in all her forms of representation. She creates installations and sculptures where the points of connection are no longer fixed, the body-works can continually transform into mobile and communicating bodies.
